so far so good
By me
I bought all 6 dvds in the set but I am only on the first one. So far it is what I expected. It seems pretty good; Andy James is good and explains the examples and concepts well. The backing tracks are good for working on the ideas and improv with your own ideas. If all the dvds are the same standard I will be satified with my purchase. I'm an intermediate guitarist but I think it will be helpful to all but quite advanced guitarists.

About the Author
William Guy Carr, R.D. Commander R.C.N. (R) Retired was born June 2, 1895 and died October 2, 1959.

At the early age of twelve the author was thoroughly indoctrinated into the Bolshevik ideology by two revolutionary missionaries who travelled on the same ship with him out to the Orient in 1907. Unlike many others he didn't swallow the bait they offered him "Hook, Line, and Sinker." He decided to keep an open mind, and to investigate matters thoroughly, before reaching any conclusions. His investigations and studies of all angles of the International Conspiracy have taken him to nearly every country in the world.

Commander Carr had a distinguished naval career. During World War I he served as Navigating Officer of H.M. Submarines. In World War II he was Naval Control Officer for the St. Lawrence; then Staff Officer Operations at Shelbourne, N.S.; then Senior Naval Officer at Goose Bay, Labrador. As an Officer on the staff of Commodore Reginald Brock he organized the 7th Victory Loan for the twenty-two Royal Canadian Naval Training Divisions.

Maybe the Most Important Book Ever Written

This may be one of the most important books ever written. It should be required reading in all schools (if there's ever to be a chance of straightening out our mess of a society that is). That won't happen though, not with America's system of public education in the hands of the Rockefeller Group. That's one point Commander Carr didn't catch. It's also one of the few.
Pawns in the Game is the culmination of a lifetime of research. If understood it shakes the beliefs of most readers to their core. The amount of documentation Carr found is staggering. The occasions where he produces it are the times when it's absolutely necessary to make what he says believable. Communism was created and funded by American bankers. Members of the same group were Roosevelt's advisors during World War II. Carr produces enough evidence to make it believable. Hitler tried to form an alliance with Britain in order to hunt down financiers from that same group. He didn't want to fight England. It makes sense. England and Germany were never natural enemies. Germany was the first nation to recover from the great depression. That's well known. Carr explains why. Hitler broke away from the International Bankers and enacted a system of monetary reform. Austria (Hitler's home Province) had enacted a similar system in the years that followed World War I. It was successful until the Rothschilds raised trade sanctions against them. Hitler's actions provoked the bankers to the point where they initiated war against him. Carr produces solid evidence when he states these cases. Much of what he has to say contradicts most of what we spend our lives being taught. But, when placed alongside historical events most of us know about what he says makes sense. The events we knew about end up making more sense as well.
This is only a small part of the book though. Carr traced the history of the money lenders from their beginnings through to the formation of the Illuminati by Adam Weishaupt. He also traced the House of Rothschild from their beginnings as the head of the group of Goldsmiths that financed the English Revolution. He explains their involvement in almost every facet of our history. He explains how these things were funded, and by who. He gives detailed analysis of their methods. The book isn't perfect. Often, he traces lines of involvement rather than chronological history (which results in moving from era to era and then back again in the next chapter). There are times when his guess work is obvious. But these are minor complaints. When a reader finishes the book they understand not only what's happened in the past, but also to see how those same things are being initiated now. This is just a small part of what this book covers. When a person is through it they don't see a conspiracy. They see a money trail.
This work should never be out of print. As a guide through the past it's astonishing. As a guide toward the future and how to influence its shape, it's invaluable. It's inaccurate to refer to this book as something one "finishes". Anyone with an appetite for truth never finishes with it. There's too much truth in there to keep from going back to it again and again.

Excellent Historical Outline of Globalist Conspiracy to the 1950s

One reviewer stated, "This book was recommended highly by Ted Gunderson, a former FBI agent who now speaks out agains the Globalists. Gunderson claimed this book is the best intro in the the plan for a one world government."

Compared to other, more current, books I have read this book provides more information in fewer pages. It also had footnotes and references to most (if not all) the source information and even a glossary.

I agree that this book is the best intro to the Globalist conspiracy that I have read so far. Even though there are many more current books, this one provided many answers to questions regarding the period from the time of Christ to to near the author's death in 1959. Once you have read this book, the more current books like those by Col. Donn de Grand Pre (2 new ones coming out in Sept. 05) will be easier to absorb.

I only found a few points that I would question on accuracy; but considering the amount of information provided that would seem to be expected, and I continue to find the "anti-semetic" label inaccurate. Carr is anti-Zionist and anti-Globalist, and he also makes the point that only a small number of Jews and Gentiles are part of the "New World Order" or Illuminati.

He is describing the most ruthless of international organized criminals who have murdered regardless of race, religion, or political party; so we all need to oppose it while we still can. The CFR appointments, the Federal Reserve System, the United Nations, the corrupt lobbyists, the Rothschild Empire, the thriving illegal drug trade, the assassinations of Presidents, the no-bid government contracts, the funding of both sides of wars, and the use of "terrorism" to destroy soverign democratic counties is history not theory, but it is certainly conspiracy, and this is the tip of the iceburg.

Buy it before it is too late

I have read many books concerning the supposed global financial conspiracy and I consider this to be one of the most cogent and well-researched. I agree that the author has been, and will continue to be, labelled anti-semitic. That is logically equal to calling someone anti-Italian because the accuse the mafia of having Italian members. The author does offer clear explanations that a small group of very powerful and rich men who may have a large number of members who are considered Jewish in their ranks. It makes perfect sense, without any need for conjecture as to the motives of the author. I believe the purpose of the book is to expose the reader to the reality of the world in which they live. It does conform with many Biblical teachings and prophecies, without being preachy. It is informative and any clean thinker will find this book enlightening. In short, buy it and learn or do not buy it and remain fooled. Make the right choice.

A Solid and Sensible Way to Build Vocabulary

I have taught English for over twenty years and have been using this excellent book and its "sidekick" -- 1,100 Words You Need to Know -- for nearly all those years to help students to improve their knowledge of advanced words. They are intelligently planned and really work. It makes good sense to learn words in the context of fields of knowledge. Another book I've begun to use recently is another (recent) Barron's book, Simon's Saga for the SAT I Verbal. This is rather advanced and for ambitious students. It teaches words in context and reinforces words by repetition and plenty of practice exercises. I suggest using Simon's Saga with 601 Words if you really want to learn a lot of words for the SAT, GRE, etc. -- not to just pretend to learn. You'll have to work, but you'll see your score improve.

The first would be a written with 30 questions, out of which 10 would be from a list of 1000 provided words. The second round would be an oral round of 3 words, once again within the provided 1000 words. The top 12 scorers (out of the entire country: around 3000 people) would be selected to compete in the third round, where there would be an elimination style oral round of words not in the list. Needless to say, people prepared extensively for this exam.

While preparing, I realized that it wasn't the 13 words out of the list of 1000 that would make a difference. It was those words from other sources. Up until the exam, I was incredibly busy with other work, so I couldn't study much. One day at Barnes and Noble, I came across this book and decided to purchase it as a last second attempt. I memorized all the words in this book till I knew them inside out, hoping something would happen. I obviously wasn't expecting to do very well.

However, I ended up getting a 28/30 on the written round (highest all across all competitors) and a perfect score in round 2. Out of those 20 words from miscellaneous sources, about 18 of them were from this very book! It was like finding the Holy Grail of vocabulary books!!! I qualified for Round 3 and eventually ended up with 8th Place!

I made a promise to my dad that if this book actually helped me get a rank, I would write a review about it on Amazon; it evidently worked. I have never felt positive enough to write a review about ANYTHING in my life, and I decided to write one about this book. That has to mean something. Take it from a student. Even though vocabulary isn't as relevant now as it used to be (with the change in the SAT), it is still important to sound sophisticated while speaking, and this book more than accomplishes that.

TLDR: Studying this book alone helped me get a rank in a highly competitive exam with over 3000 people across the nation. DEFINITE BUY.

A truly healing experience

As a rape survivor, reading this book (and watching the authors' TED talk) has been a truly healing experience for me. I will never have the opportunity to confront the men who raped me; but through their book the authors have given my brain the opportunity to witness a man who had raped a woman owning it, letting himself be vulnerable with her, and opening to a process to help both of them heal. What an incredible gift. While I doubt that I will ever understand the choices that Stranger made that night, I have a lot of respect for his willingness to own those choices and to share their story in the hopes that others will be helped. And I have so much admiration for how Elva found a way to heal, what she did must have taken the most incredible courage; and I salute her for being willing to share her story in the hopes that it helps others and prevents more sexual violence.

If you are a survivor, this book could be powerful for you, but I would only recommend reading it after walking a good part of the healing journey. There is plenty in the book that could potentially be triggering, so I suggest only reading it once you have all the resources you need to be able to stay present and manage any reactions it brings up in you. I am very thankful that I had the opportunity to read it, but was only able to do so after spending several years developing solid resources to stay present instead of dissociating when exposed to the material such as what is in the book.

About the Author
Rabbi Adin Steinsaltz is a teacher, philosopher and spiritual mentor who has been hailed by Time Magazine as a once-in-a-millennium scholar. Born in Jerusalem in 1937, Rabbi Steinsaltz studied physics and chemistry at the Hebrew University. At the age of 24, he became Israel's youngest school principal. He established a network of schools in Israel and the former Soviet Union, and in 1988, was awarded the Israel Prize--his country's highest honor--for his work in Jewish education. In 1965, Rabbi Steinsaltz embarked on a lifelong mission to make the Talmud accessible to all. He has since translated and developed commentaries on the Talmud in modern Hebrew, English, Russian and French, revolutionizing the study of this central text of Jewish law, ethics, customs and history. In addition, Rabbi Steinsaltz has authored some 60 books and hundreds of articles on subjects ranging from theology to mysticism and social commentary.
