Great Overview and Photographs, but not a detailed history book

The Baby Professor series has many e-books for free and for as low as 0.99. I love books and read non-stop as a child so naturally I want my children to be just as interested in reading. I also love teaching and have an Associates in Elementary Education. So, when I was asked to provide an honest and unbiased review for a free I jumped at the chance.
I loved many features about this ebook. The first is the map included at the beginning allowing kids to point out where each ancient civilization was located. The included photographs were very vivid, beautiful, and clear. For children who prefer learning visually, this is a great feature. That being said, I was hoping for much more details for a fourth-grade level ebook. I had found a free ebook from the same company for my preschooler earlier and it was perfect for her age. This book is a bit too simple for a fourth grader. But it does make for a great introduction to the topic. Inside you will find brief overviews on Mesopotamia, the Indus Valley, Ancient Egypt, Greece and other civilizations. I wish it had included more details about the accomplishments and contributions each ancient civilization had made or some popular stories and inventions related to these civilizations.
The ebook is very short around 18 pages. I certainly would not have spent any money purchasing a physical copy of this ebook as I feel it is too expensive for just 18 pages.

A bit boring and lacks of details - could be better and more enjoyable for a 8-9 year old!

Let's say that I was expecting more of this book... but the price for the Kindle is ok! And I would absolutely NOT BUY the paperback version: $9,42 for less than 18 pages, to me this would be a total rip-off.
But my review is based on the Kindle version only anyway.
This mini book.. is quite empty... it is lacking a lot of things (more year-data, more details).. I mean.. is this really supposed to be for ages 8-9? Than it should be more dense with everything. I was expecting more history.. (isn't this the title?).
Instead it just gives a brief explanation of each civilization (for instance Rome or Greece... without going into detail though).
The only thing I liked was the choice of the pictures: beautiful images - but even there... It could have been better, less boring.
Make it more interesting for an 8-9 year old kid!!! How are they supposed to like something that is supposed to be a book to enjoy at home? It needs to be different from the boring books they get in school! Don't you think? Well, that's only my point of view of course... ;)
I want my kids to have fun at home... learn new things and enjoy what they are doing... not get bored on a book that looks worse than one they would/could get in school.

This is a pretty good book

This is a pretty good book. The photos inside it are really captivating and makes children interested. However the information text provided is simple, I wish we can get more details to kept 4th grader interested . One other complain is there's lack of closure, the book suddenly ends without warning. I received this ebook for free for my unbiased review.
