About the Author
Sandy Mitchell is a pseudonym of Alex Stewart, who has been a full-time writer since the mid nineteen eighties. The majority of his work as Sandy has been tie-in fiction for Games Workshop's Warhammer fantasy and Warhammer 40,000 science fiction lines. The exceptions have been a novelisation of episodes from the high tech thriller series Bugs, for which he also worked as a scriptwriter under his own name, some Warhammer roleplaying game material, and a scattering of short stories and magazine articles. His hobbies include the martial arts of Aikido and Iaido, miniature wargaming, role-playing games, and pottering about on the family allotment. He lives in the North Essex village of Earls Colne, with his wife Judith and daughter Hester.

True to form

If you are a fan of the series this title stays true to form. It is rife with Cain's normal mix of self depreciating humor, reluctant heroism, and tendency to get in far over his head.
Worth the read if you have enjoyed any of the previous Cain novels.

Another great Ciaphas Cain story

Another planet, another adventure, and more terror than Cain ever wants to know. Our favorate hero of the 41st millenium is back, still hiding behind as much cover as he feels he can get away with and still look the part of the hero (damning his reputation the entire time). This time he's on another ice world and once again he finds himself in the middle of a mess that only he can, by some good grace, clean up. This is yet another epic with Ciaphas Cain that I couldn't wait to read, a fantastic book if I do say so myself, action, humor, horror, and adventure. What more does one need? Typical Cain - with everything you expect

There is little to say here really - it's hardly the first novel in Cain series, so if you are interested in it then carrots to credits you've read and enjoyed at least some of the previous books.
This one has all you might expect from Cain novel - I've detected no author fatigue yet, so if you like this sort of thing then do not hesitate - plenty of heroics by unlikely hero awaits your attention, all very much up to the Cains' gold standart in my opinion..
A good buy in my opinion.
