Excellent reference book...

Excellent reference book for interns starting out in community pharmacy, or as an on-hand reference for in a pharmacy. The books provides a comprehensive overview of commonly requested or recommended OTC's, uses, and instances it shouldn't be used. This came in handy when I started my introductory practice in a community pharmacy, as most of my pharmacy and medical experience came from the hospital setting. Albeit it doesn't have all OTC options and questions currently to date, but a good overview of common ones. It provides a great foundational overview and I would recommend students who are starting out to either invest in it, or bring a spiral bound book to take notes from the perspective of the pharmacists that you work with (and the last option is a recommendation that has helped me). The book is an inexpensive reference to have on hand.

excellent resource
By Mary Anwar
the tables and charts are helpful. this is good for either an educated, non-medical person or a healthcare professional. it's primarily for over the counter drugs and supplements, but it's also useful for basic background on diseases and medical device recommendations. I highly recommend it as a resource for everyone. but beware the size! it's a HUGE book. you will not be able to carry it with you. and most likely it will just sit on a shelf, which is a shame. if you don't buy it, then you should definitely consider requesting your local or educational library (or workplace) to get a copy for reference. it has invaluable information that is hard to find online. good book and worth the price.

awesome book
By Michael F
although i would have liked a cheaper price, this book is well organized, clean formatting, and right to the point when im trying to help family, friends, and patients in dealing with OTC treatments. Note: i am a pharmacist, with lost of clinical experience, and when my friends need consults i can just photo the page or scan it and email it, and its very understandable even to those not in the medical field.
